POLITICIANS INCREASE SPENDING ON PERSONAL PROTECTION AS CRIME SOARS

“You can get much further with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.”

Al Capone

Introduction

Representative John Katko (R – NY) spent 20 years as a federal prosecutor fighting organized crime and putting violent criminals behind bars before being elected to Congress. Katko is unnerved by the highest spike in murder rates in decades, largely occurring in Democrate-run cities like Portland, Chicago, New York and San Francisco.

Democrats have spent years defunding, disarming and demonizing law enforcement. Judges are releasing repeat offenders on little or no bond and putting dangerous criminals back on the streets.

Democrats Beef Up Private Security

According to data provided by OpenSecrets, Democrats dominate the list of top ten lawmakers in spending campaign money on private security. Eight of the top ten spenders are Democrats, including a few names associated with strict gun control platforms and defunding the police.

Leading the list by far is Freshman Senator Raphael Warnock (D – GA) who spent $605,900 for personal security in the past year. Reverend Warnock nearly doubled his nearest competitor in spending for security.

The National Rifle Association has posted a video of Reverend Warnock laughing at church-goers who defend themselves with guns.

Stacey Abrams, while advocating for “defund the police” causes, was spending over $1.2 million on private security for her own protection.

Biden Takes Title of Gun Sales Champ

Americans have witnessed firsthand the policy failures of defunding law enforcement and releasing or failing to prosecute criminals.

The FBI did almost 39 million background checks during Biden’s first year in office for citizens who wanted to buy guns. That equals the combined background checks for the first year of Obama and Trump.

The most anti-gun president in history has yielded the greatest number of gun sales for a first-year presidential term ever.

Conclusion

A record number of police officers were killed in the line of duty last year. Anti-police rhetoric and underfunded police departments have contributed to this dangerous environment and played a major role in fueling America’s crime wave.

While the average citizen faces record breaking violent crime, elitist “defund the police” politicians hide behind bodyguards.
