Since 2016, social media platforms have silenced conservatives using the pretext of suppressing misinformation.
Weaponizing Social Media
In 2016, in the wake of Hillary Clinton’s loss, the Democratic National Committee concluded the reason Trump won was because of “misinformation.” In 2016 the Democrats weaponized social media platforms to eliminate “misinformation.”
In July 2021, then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, in one of the most anti-free speech statements ever made by the U.S. government said, “We are flagging posts for Facebook that spread misinformation. We are in regular touch with these social media platforms regarding misinformation.”
The internet and social media platforms have become a weapon for Biden to cancel any thoughts and opinions that challenge his narrative.
Biden Led A Major Censorship Program
According to Missouri Republican Senator Eric Schmidt, Biden led the largest censorship operation in recent history by working with social media companies to suppress and censor information later acknowledged as truthful.
The FBI deliberately planted false information about “hack-and-leak” operations in advance of the Hunter Biden laptop story to deceive social media platforms into censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story.
The Biden censorship enterprise spanned over a dozen significant government institutions. Federal officials relentlessly pressured social media platforms by threatening them with ruinous legal consequences if they did not censor disfavored speakers and viewpoints.
Twitter Worked for the FBI
Intelligence and State Department officials had Twitter censor accounts they deemed guilty of misinformation.
In the weeks before the 2020 election, Twitter was getting so many requests for censorship from so many people, they had to ask the FBI to sort out the requests for them.
Department of Homeland Security
During the 2020 election, the DHS outsourced censorship assignments to private sector partners. The DHS deputized private sector partners to pressure social media to cancel posts that were not in line with their narrative.
The First Amendment has no qualifier excluding misinformation. The Founders of America understood that all opinions and viewpoints need protection.
Benjamin Franklin warned 250 years ago, “Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freedom of speech.”
