“Nobody comes here anymore. It is too crowded.”

Introduction
Seeking asylum is legal under both domestic and international law. People arriving at the U.S. border have the right to request asylum.
Biden campaigned on easing immigration controls and has done an extraordinary job fulfilling his promise. A record number of illegal immigrants have flooded into the country during his time in office.
It is noteworthy that Biden is allocating billions of American taxpayer’s money to protect Ukraine while cutting back on measures to protect the American border.
Biden Lifts Title 42
Title 42 is a public health order, used since March 2020, to turn away illegal immigrants who are sick. In February alone, Title 42 restrictions halted about 55 percent of the 164,000 migrants at the border.
Biden has called for Title 42 restrictions to end on May 23. A number of Republican Attorney Generals have sued and even some Democrats have criticized this decision.
Biden Funds Ukraine Security
On March 28, Biden unveiled his $6 trillion fiscal year 2023 budget. $13.6 billion will be dedicated to helping secure Ukraine.
Biden Does Not Enforce Immigration Laws
In August 2021 the Supreme Court ruled that the Biden administration had to reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy which requires asylum seekers to remain in Mexco until a judge has ruled on their case.
The Biden version of the policy has very little resemblance to the policy enforced by Trump. So far, the Department of Homeland Securtiy has sent back about 7 asylum seekers per day compared with 350 returned daily in the summer of 2019.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), whose lawsuit forced Biden to restart the “Remain in Mexico” policy, called the low numbers outrageous and accused Biden of violating the Court’s order.
The Department of Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas has recently ordered for illegal migrants to be released into the United States as a form of “humanitarian parole.”
Conclusion
Providing billions to Ukraine while cutting back on efforts to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States is being harshly criticized.
Senator Ted Cruz (R – Texas) recently argued that the border crisis and the current administration’s “decision to defy immigration laws” are grounds for impeachment.
