AMERICANS WANT THEIR GUNS & THEY WANT THEM NOW

Introduction

The percentage of Americans who think local crime is getting worse has hit the highest level in five decades. A record 55 percent believe there is more crime locally now than a year ago.

Americans are buying guns in record numbers to protect themselves and their property.

Voters Say No to Gun Control

Politicians in New York and California push extreme gun control to keep people “safe.” Their voters disagree.

Voters perceive politicians as failing to address their safety concerns. 60 percent say crime in their community is a problem and are worried about becoming victims.

Since 2020, 1.4 million New Yorkers have purchased a firearm with more than 145,000 buying in the first six months of 2023. Since 2020, 3.8 million Californaians have pirchased a firearm with more than 473,000 buying in the first six months of 2023.

Gun Sales Explode in States Banning Them

States planning gun bans or moving to change the rules governing firearms purchases have seen massive jumps in gun sales.

In Washington State and Oregon, where the governors are hostile to lawful firearms ownership, sales of guns are up over 40 percent from a year ago.

Supreme Court Ruling on the Right to Carry Guns

In June 2022, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas wrote, “We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating special need. That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech and it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for self-defense.”

Considering this ruling, William Kirk of Washington Gun Law said, “I do not see how restrictive gun measures around the country are going to survive constitutional scrutiny.”

Soros Backed New Mexico Governor Bans Firearms

New Mexico Governor Michelle Grisham, whose campaign was backed by George Soros, issued an emergency order suspending the right to carry firearms in public in Albuquerque for at least 30 days.

A pro-gun group is suing the governor for “stripping the rights of millions away with the stroke of a pen.”

Americans Are Locked and Loaded

The number of Americans carrying handguns doubled from 3 million in 2015 to 6 million in 2019.

The number carrying handguns in October 2022 skyrocketed to 16 million as American’s concerns about violent crime escalated.

Far more Americans own weapons than the accepted 30% cited in polls. Up to 60% of Americans may own guns.

Conclusion

As Americans have watched cities looted and burned, with no regard for personal property rights, they have decided to take advantage of their right to bear arms for personal protection.

The freedom to own a firearm is guaranteed by the Second Amendment. This peculiar and vital freedom is what distinguishes America from every other nation on the planet.
